Karmina Choi, MD FACS
Dr. Karmina Choi is board-certified in both colorectal surgery and general surgery. Her practice at Colorectal Care of New Jersey focuses on colorectal surgery including proctology. She is highly skilled in minimally invasive surgery, often uses laparoscopic approaches in performing abdominal surgeries.
Dr. Choi majored in Nutrition and Food Science during her undergraduate studies at Hunter College in New York City. She attended medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She then went on to complete her general surgery residency at New York Methodist Hospital (now NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital) in Brooklyn, NY.
After completion of her residency training, she worked as a general surgeon for 4 years at NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital before pursuing fellowship training in the specialty of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. Since then, Dr. Choi has focused her practice specializing in colorectal surgery. She was a full time colorectal surgeon and served as the Division Chief of Colorectal Surgery at St. Joseph's Health system in northern New Jersey for 4 years, prior to opening her own practice currently located in Fort Lee, NJ. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
Dr Choi was born and raised in Hong Kong and can speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.
